EMPRESS RDBMS with UNICODE Now Available for Red Hat Linux 9®

Beltsville, MD, October 10, 2003 - Empress Software announces immediate availability of EMPRESS RDBMS V8.62 with UNICODE for Red Hat Linux 9. EMPRESS RDBMS, "The Embedded Real-Time Database", is a powerful, cost-effective database management system for the development of embedded, real-time applications on Linux, UNIX, Windows and Real-Time systems. The fast, small footprint, maintenance-free EMPRESS database engine connects to a number of integrated development environments with API's for C, C++, SQL, ODBC, JDBC, HTML and Fortran.
EMPRESS RDBMS is a full-featured database management system especially designed for data intensive embedded applications. Now available for Red Hat Linux 9, EMPRESS with UNICODE is easily deployed for multi-language applications including Chinese and Japanese on a personal desktop, workstation, server or even supercomputer for single-user, multi-user or client/server configurations. EMPRESS implements UNICODE support using UTF-8 (Universal Transformation Format), a method of converting universal encoded character sets for the storage of information from any language.
