- In version 6.10, the default setting for the Empress variable MSDATELIMIT is 1900. This variable indicates your preferred century for entering dates. The default value for version V8.10 and V8.20 is 1950. As an example entering only two digits for a year, 35, results in 2035 (in version 6.10 it would be 1935). You can set this variable in the Empress file "initfile" or in the environment.
- In versions V6.10 & V8.10 Empress 4GL will have problems dealing with 2 Digit date format in conjunction with using EDIT Patterns and date elements. For more information on EDIT patterns see Empress Manual: C1 4GL User's Guide (Appendix A.1.5).
- There are NO known Y2K issues related to Version V8.20.
